- tipunus. Camponotus (Dinomyrmex) dorycus var. tipuna Forel, 1913f: 200 (s.w.m.) TAIWAN.
- Type-material: syntype major and minor workers, syntype males (numbers not stated).
- Type-localities: Taiwan (“Formosa”): Kosempo (H. Sauter), Taihorin (H. Sauter), Suisharyo (H. Sauter).
- Type-depository: MHNG (perhaps also DEIB).
- Combination in C. (Tanaemyrmex): Emery, 1925b: 90.
- Subspecies of dorycus: Emery, 1925b: 90; Wheeler, W.M. 1929g: 57; Chapman & Capco, 1951: 245.
